EWS Genealogy Lectures provides lectures on genealogical and historical subjects to libraries, genealogical, lineage and historical societies in Connecticut and nearby areas.
Lecturer, Edwin W. Strickland II, has over 40 years experience as both an amateur and professional genealogist. He was raised by his grandparents on a farm owned by the Strickland Family since 1789. Being surrounded by family artifacts and stories, he developed a sense of heritage at any early age. His grandmother and two great aunts provided him with a jump-start with his own ancestral search, and by age 24 he was off on his own, seeking out missing ancestors and their descendants. In 2000, he began to take on clients professionally. Since 2006, he has shifted his focus to teaching and lecturing. His own research has focused on his ancestral lines, the descendants of Jacob Carter of Branford, Connecticut, the Strickland Families of New England and beyond, and the Families of Otis, Massachusetts.
